India’s spice industry stands at a defining intersection of agriculture, food safety and global trade. At the heart of this industry is the farmer, its first and most consequential quality controller whose every input decision, cultivation practice and post-harvest choice determines whether Indian spices earn and hold the trust of consumers in markets around the world.
Since its inception, the World Spice Organisation has been committed to elevating the safety and quality of Indian spices. Through past editions, the National Spice Conference has advanced conversations on sustainability, food safety and quality, while creating direct market linkages for farmers and FPOs dedicated to producing sustainable high-quality spices.
Centred on the theme “Empowering Farmers, Protecting Consumers,” NSC 2026 will advance discussions on farm-level food safety practices, fair pricing and living income for farmers, residue-free and origin-verified supply chains, post-harvest infrastructure, digital traceability tools and the role of women farmers as quality custodians, building on the momentum of previous editions.
